621khz 6EL Bunbury WA (3RN Melbourne off air)
Переглядів 56Місяць тому
3RN was off for maintenance. Mainly just heard 6EL "SEN" Bunbury. Adj splatter was bad, so a tough copy. Best with headphones. SEN is supposed to be a sports network, so why are they just playing music?? Makes them sound like like any other commercial radio station Location: Cooma NSW Australia Antenna: 200m BOG @ 300DEG Date: 23rd May 2024
774khz 3LO Maintenance - DX signals - DRM signal
Переглядів 100Місяць тому
3LO tones tests (looks good on the Spectrum Display) & outage. DRM signal of unknown origin & DX from NZ & The Philippines. At one point, sounds like a RMN network ID - so I'd say DYRI. Japanese DXers are reporting North Korea is testing DRM on some AM frequencies, so 774 could be from there. Location: Cooma NSW Australia Antenna: 200m BOG @ 300DEG Date: 23rd May 2024

oooooo this sounds so staticy and soo gooood making me so relaxed thank ya m8 this is super bonzaroo
I once had 2 storms in 1 day, is that rare?
yes
i loooove this that little bit of that staticy sweetness makes it so much better, and great record too lil pops loving it too
Those a380 frequently push 640mph +.
they reflect FM broadcast stations really well too!
Most people who would want this would want to use it for HF shortwave, any old radio has FM. A demonstration of shortwave would have been a better selling point as a video idea.
I'm not interested in SW & are mainly into FMDX - hence this video
👍🇳🇱
Wow!! Well done receiving 3SH from there during the day. Thanks for sharing. Years ago back in 1973, while holidaying in Griffith NSW, I noticed that it was possible to receive both 2UE Sydney and 3UZ Melbourne faintly during the day on my portable radio.
ooooh im loving this sounds super sweet m8
I wish I had the space for a 200m BOG antenna haha always been barefoot DX with just a little portable Tecsun loop for me
Stromy June days be like:
Interesting reception. Your pronunciation of Kaikohe is absolutely correct. When I first saw the name on a map, I originally thought it was pronounced as ""Cake-o" LOL!!! I am glad I got the name correct before traveling later to New Zealand, I might have ended up being linched!!!
👍👍👍

Excellent reception. Well done.
Well done receiving Cambodia. It certainly makes a difference having 918kHz clear of locals there.
KIX Bowral have recently converted to FM on 87.6 (the old visitor radio frequency)
of wow, didn't know that! thanks
Interesting. Thanks for the update. Would 1215 kHz be completely clear of locals in Bowral now?
yes
Bonza to get Taiwan so strong too really staticool m8.
bonzariffic good to always get a golden find again, i noticed the same for a local station usually on AM and lately FM it was weak on FM KBRD 101.3 and AM680, this year before my radio went kaput that station got much more power, ohhh the warping is so sweet to hear again.
noice m8 loving this awesome catch ya got here bonzariffic and crackly too smiles of pure joy
Congratulations! 🎉
i sure missed hearing the staticy goodness from ya m8 i finally got my internet back
nice to hear. Welcome back 😀
@@dxer22000 im sooo very happy to be back hopefully it last's this time im catching up on everything it will take awhile hehe, hearing your vids makes it so much worth while, especially your driving dxing ones.
the mic is not bad
Excellent TV DX reception. Love the Goodnight Kiwi. Thanks for sharing.
Sounds like the spot blocks werent aligned with the network... interesting sound.
Interesting reception. I was especially interested in the suspected KKMP reception. it is a pity they could not have included a station ID between the songs. Anyway, thanks for sharing.
Chinese flute must be Voice of Strait, even audible underneath ABC in the beginning of your video. I think this alone is a good catch from Australia 😅
thanks
Interesting mix of stations there. Thanks for sharing.
Interesting reception. You may have even more chances for this one in the future as I think 2TM is the next AM to FM conversion planned.
nice!
thanks
👏👏👏
Excellent reception. DZRV Philippines certainly put in a decent signal there. Well done.
I only noticed later I had a typo with the call sign on the screen text. I typed DWRV instead of DZRV
Interesting reception. This particular frequency in Napier/Hawkies Bay was previously used by The Breeze.
The tech at Gladstone many years ago was very religious and refused to look after Biloela due to the frequency being 666
Also in the FM settings on this radio Set level offset control is on 0 db.. Set low level threshold is set at 10 db what is the purpose of these settings and what is the best settings for picking up weaker stations and also if I set those settings lower or higher I get a buzzing noise mostly I want the settings set to able to pick up less static and buzzing interference noise the stereo in audio settings set stereo sep threshold is on 35dbuV. Mainly I love the radio and use the telescopic antenna the radio came with. What recommendatiions would you recommend on all the settings from Audio settings Display Settings RDS settings and FM settings for picking up weaker stations for dxing on the FM and Also the AM band too. Please get back to me as soon as you can. Since it didn't come with a user manual still learning the radio settings to be able to get weaker distance stations on On the band if you can help me I would really appreciate this Thank you very much and have a good day. I have other Tef-6686 radios too a couple of the LNA preamplifier radio and a couple of the full band tef-6686 radios with the red yellow blue buttons in front of the radio great radios. Thanks again Curtis Mcmenamin
Hi this is Curtis Mcmenamin I have this same radio a couple of questions I have to ask you Set High Cut Threshold it is set to off what is the best position for this setting for picking up weaker stations and what is the purpose of this feature
I'm not 100% sure but I think its an audio related feature not an RF related one. To limit the audio bandwidth. I don't use or set these features. Maybe someone else can chip in with more info
Coming off Mt Te Aroha
On this radio I have one and it didn't come with instructions but the radio has FM settings on the menu and one of the options on the settings is FM sensitivity scan and you can adjust it from 1 to 15 what is the best settings on the radio for the best reception on all bands like the radio alot but need help on the best positions for the best settings to get good reception on all bands can you get back to me as soon as possible thank you very much have a good day
the FM sensitivity scan can be set to allow you to set the FM signal strength the auto scan will land on. If you only want it to land on strong local signals, then set it high, like 10+. If you have it set low, it will land on weaker FM signals

This is ABC radio in Australia
Interesting reception. Depending on which direction that the Es are being received, 4RBL Richmond Qld may be mixed in that lot. However, that background music behind the pop music has really got me wondering.
🙏🙏🙏
What might be in your opinion? Very interesting, anyway.
one is likely a 4RFM translator
@@dxer22000 How far is the area of Perth from your location? It's a double hop, I suppose.
yes & its 3100km but Perth is much harder to receive than say Northam WA. Terrain blockage near the TX site
Great reception. Well done and thanks for sharing.
Wow!! Well done catching Es this time of year.
If it was DRM it didnt look modulated with audio data
being an analogue receiver, it is only going to receive noise. It cannot decode anything digital
@@dxer22000 im aware of that.. but the DRM carriers looked unmodulated.. this could of been BAI doing a test ?
just heard back from BAI & they are not doing any tests atm. The 774 DRM is likely North Korea
👏👏👏
What kind of radio are you using
Icom R-8600
Wow!! Well done! 621kHz has never sounded better!!!
